WWE Smackdown 26/07/2013 - Results, Review and AnalysisThe WWE Smackdown that was taped on Tuesday Night but will air on 26/07/2013 kicked off with a dark match between Justin Gabriel and Robbie Gennie.  The match ended with Gabriel planting a 450 splash and winning the match comfortably towards the end.  With almost all the superstars who normally appear during Friday Nights in action, a few matches turned out to be absolutely brilliant to watch.  Read on for the complete WWE Smackdown 26/07/2013 Results along with the performance review of the matches and the Analysis of the show.Note: Spoilers included below.The episode officially kicked off with a match between Randy Orton and Damien Sandow.  Orton eventually won the match courtesy of an RKO as Sandow was distracted by Cody Rhodes who also went ahead to steal his contract briefcase.The next segment involved CM Punk coming out to the ring after which he spoke about Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman.  Fandango then came out and did his normal dance routine only to receive a GTS in the end after which Punk left the ring.The 2nd match of the night involved Mark Henry and The Uso's against Wade Barrett and Prime Time Players.  It was Mark Henry who eventually won the match up for his team as he planted the World's strongest slam.Alberto Del Rio spoke to Vickie Guerrero and asked her to allow him to pick his opponent just like John Cena did.  RVD then joined the conversation after which Rio asked him to prove himself a worthy contender for the title.  RVD claimed that he would that during the night.  Sandow then went backstage looking for his briefcase and spoke to Sin Cara who didn't speak English.The match between Rob Van Dam and Alberto Del Rio ended with Rio emerging a winner via a kick just as RVD was speaking to a referee.Sandow who was still looking for his briefcase went to Mark Henry and Booker T.  They acted as though Rhodes was a thief while Sandow was sure that this happened because of Booker T.  AJ was the next to come out to the ring with Big E Langston as she called out Dolph Ziggler.  She claimed that she was the champion and was doing fine and showed Ziggler his house key after which she threw out Zigglers belongings out of the ring.  The segment ended with Kaitlyn hitting a spear on AJ and Dolph planting a fameasser on Langston.The  match between The Wyatt family and Tons off funk went in favor of the Wyatt's.Sandow went to complain to Vickie about his lost case and claimed that he was going to find it tonight.Moving on at WWE Smackdown 26/07/2013, Christian won a match against Jack Swagger after he used his finisher.Sandow was then in the ring and issued a reward for his case.  Rhodes then came on the big screen with the case after which Sandow chased him outside.The Match between Fandango and CM Punk on 26/07/2013 went in the favor of CM Punk.The final segment of the match saw Cody Rhodes having the Briefcase and throwing it into the bay.  The WWE Smackdown went off air with Sandow  yelling for his case and the title shot.  He jumped into the ocean but was quickly out from the corpus christi bay.The last dark match of the night between Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston went in favor of Ziggler after he planted a finisher on Langston.Take a look at the quick recap of what happened during the course of the show below. table.tableizer-table { border: 1px solid #CCC; font-family: ; font-size: 16px; } .tableizer-table td { padding: 4px; margin: 3px; border: 1px solid #ccc; } .tableizer-table th { background-color: #104E8B; color: #FFF; font-weight: bold; } WWE Smackdown 26/07/2013 ResultsRandy Orton Defeated Damien SandowMark Henry and The Usos defeated Darren Young, Titus O' Neil and Wade BarrettAlberto Del Rio defeated Rob Van DamEric Rowan and Luke Harper defeated Tensai and Brodus ClayChristian Defeated Jack SwaggerCM Punk Defeated FandangoDark Match: Dolph Ziggler defeated Big E LangstonWhat are your thoughts about the WWE Smackdown 26/07/2013 Results?

John Cena and Ryback competed in a Last Man Standing match at WWE Extreme Rules that had no happy ending in sight.

With Ryback on a long pay per view drought he was one more loss from his ship sailing in the eyes of WWE fans. How could one be a money drawing babyface or heel if he loses every meaningful match he's booked in

Ryback winning wouldn't have been much better. John Cena and the WWE would have virtually wasted the last year of Cena's career. That was a year spent trying to seek redemption in winning the WWE Championship from The Rock. The end of that match at WrestleMania XXIX where Cena would find said redemption saw The Rock pass the proverbial torch to him.

That iconic and somewhat poorly received moment needs a bit more time to breathe before Cena drops the title.

A Cena Ryback draw on paper sounds worse than both options. But the execution was so magnificent the WWE bought itself more time with the once floundering Cena Ryback rivalry.

Ryback speared John Cena through the Extreme Rules setup in a visually stimulating spot that ended the match. Ryback walked out on his own power with help from referees. John Cena was stretchered out. The title didn't change hands but Ryback was kept strong.

Advantage Ryback.

WWE's next pay per view is aptly named Payback. With what fans just saw Ryback suddenly appears as a threat to beat John Cena which he virtually did by being the last man standing. No phony Achilles injury will be needed to sell this rematch.

You're the GM of series....my second round results

Continuing the "You're the GM..." theme, I'm going to do a quick write up of what I'd do in the second round (this is based on the Draft Re-Do)33. New England Patriots (acquired by trading down with Jacksonville) - CB Jamar Taylor (first round pick - none)New England needs corners and Jamar Taylor is watching his stock skyrocket right now.  He one of the most complete corners in the draft and should be a day one starter.34. San Francisco 49ers - DE Margus Hunt (first round pick - NT John Jenkins)At 6'8", Hunt is not only a huge obstacle for quarterbacks to throw over, but for kickers to avoid as well.  In college, he earned his nickname, "The Eastern Block" by blocking a total of 17 kicks.  He's one of the top athletes in the draft who had one of the best Combines in recent memory and will upgrade the defensive end position immediately.  Drafting him along with my first round choice of Jenkins gives the Niners a young core of players on the defensive line.35. Miami Dolphins (acquired by trading up with Philadelphia) - OT Menelik Watson (first round pick - DE Bjoern Werner)Miami still needs to fill the hole left by Jake long.  They use some of the fire power they have in this draft (their first of two second round picks and a third) to move up and secure Watson who is climbing boards,  I wouldn't be surprised at all if he goes in the first round, but in this mock he's here and the Dolphins make a big move to land him before the tackle-starved Lions and Cardinals.36. Detroit Lions - OT Terron Armstead (first round pick - CB Dee Milliner)The Lions would have to choose between Cornellius Carradine and an offensive tackle.  The top two left are Armstead and Justin Pugh and I took Armstead because of his upside.  He's probably my favorite small-school player in this draft and one of my favorites all-around.  His huge upside and unbelievable toughness make him my clear choice for the Lions.37. Cincinnati Bengals - DE Cornellius Carradine (first round pick - S Kenny Vaccaro)Defensive end Michael Johnson is currently franchised by the Bengals and by selecting Carradine, they have his replacement in 2014.  Carradine is coming off a major knee injury and is not expected to be ready for week one, but with Johnson locked up for one year, the Bengals can afford to let this first round talent heal up before leaning on him.The rest of the second round, after the jump...Read more »Fantasy Football Trenches - Where The Game Is Won
